This simulator accompanies the article "What Features Lead Consumers to Upgrade to Paid AI Plans?" Read it here.

This simulator is based on the choice-based conjoint survey we ran with American consumers (see article). It allows users to simulate the percentage of consumers who would select a free AI plan, a paid AI plan, or no plan with different plan configurations.

Users should start by setting the baseline features to identical values in both plans and set the target price in the paid plan. They can then upgrade features one by one in the paid plan and see how much each upgrade increases the percentage of paid users. The default feature selections are those used in the article.

To simplify the analysis, this simulator assumes respondents are all pontential customers of a single AI company that offers a free plan and a paid plan. More complex simulators could be built that include competition and/or multiple plan tiers.
